Fives selected by Renault for a crankshaft’ production line automation
Renault has selected Fives for the automation of a crankshaft production line in its plant in Sao Jose dos Pinhais in Brazil
Renault renews its confidence in Fives’ Automation activity, as a continuation of the projects in Cleon and Valladolid. Renault trusted again in the experience of Fives teams in interlinking and automotive sectors, and as a 1st rank supplier on the one hand, and reliability of its equipment such as gantry FG90 on the other hand.
This new production line is made for handling 3 and 4 cylinders crankshafts for Renault Nissan and Daimler engines. The challenge for Fives in this project is to redesign its conveyors so that they adapt to the Nissan Renault Alliance standard lines (Alliance Standard Line) and by the way make a complete "Made in Fives" offer including gantries and conveyors. Integration of traceability from the beginning of production will be implemented.
The key sets for the line are:
- 17 FG90 gantries with associated control stations,
- 16 pallet conveyors,
- 1 Datamatrix laser engraving station,
- 16 parts identification stations (Datamatrix code scanning),
- IT traceability associated with production
A single and complete model installation will be carried out in Fives Cinetic’s workshop. Installation on the customer site is scheduled for the end of 2017 and will be conducted by Fives Automation teams in order to put in force production in March 2018.
